“They answered Joshua: “All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.” – Joshua 1:16
This verse is a response from the three tribes that will remain on the other side of the Jordan river to Joshua as their new leader after the death of Moses. On the next verses, they told Joshua that they will obey him just as they obeyed Moses and that they would put to death those who will rebel against him. They even encouraged Joshua to be strong and of good courage. What a great response towards the leadership of someone who is new and is different from the previous leader. It shows to us that they respect and submit to their leaders and they are serious in doing it. In fact they would put a death sentence on those who rebel. This reminds us that we should not take rebellion lightly. Instead, we should submit and respect those who are leading us. That includes our parents, pastors, leaders in the government, teachers, boss, and others. – Commentary by Jeremy B. Trio

Acts 2:42-47
42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
