Let your life be free from love of money but be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never forsake you or abandon you.” – Hebrews 13:5

Two women come to God. He asks the first one if she would like to have a house, all expenses paid. She says, “Yes,” and God produces a beautiful home for her. He asks the second woman the same question, and she says, “Yes.” God produces a beautiful mansion for her. The first woman starts sobbing and runs out leaving her beautiful house behind. Is this not how envy works? The first woman still had a beautiful free home but because someone else received a bigger, better home, she was no longer content with the one God gave her. Jealousy outshined her appreciation. Since she could not be happy with what she had, she couldn’t be happy for her neighbor either. The secret to being content is gratitude. Realize that everything you own is a gift from God. Don’t go around begrudging others because of their blessings. Just because someone else has something bigger, better, or brighter than you, doesn’t take away what you have, nor does it make yours’ less. Appreciate what you have, be happy for others. – Commentary by Sarine Thomas‏

Acts 2:42-47
42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
