“He has made everything appropriate to its time, and has put the timeless into their hearts, without men’s ever discovering, from beginning to end, the work which God has done.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11
Eternity in the Hebrew language means forever. Here, as Solomon writes during the end of his lifetime, he speaks to how far and vast the heart of God reaches. Whether or not we can see it for ourselves, God sees each of us as a beautiful image, an image of His amazing love. Whether or not we are actively growing in our faith, He sees us as something special, something beautiful. A simple chorus comes to mind, “In his time, in his time, he makes everything beautiful, in his time.” God is constantly trying to mold us into the beautiful image we were created to be. This passage is a reminder of that. Even if it takes forever, He continues to shape our hearts in every way. Today, simply remind yourself of that. – Commentary by Matthew Elliott
