John Marquis

Hello, My name is John Marquis (pronounced Markrus). I grew up in Newburgh Indiana, a small town just East of Evansville. I grew up all of my life in a Christ centered home. After graduating from Castle High School in 1999, I joined the Marine Corp and was stationed at the Marine Security Battalion in Quantico, VA from 2000 – 2003.

In 2001 I married my beautiful wife and we now have three awesome kids. Our son is 12, and we have 2 daughters (8 and 3). I felt the calling for ministry in 2005 when I really gave my life over to God for his work. I graduated Indiana Wesleyan University in 2013. I have been involved in ministry for 10 years. For four years my wife and I did youth ministry in Indianapolis, following that I was Associate Pastor in Terre Haute for 4 additional years before coming to Central Heights as senior pastor in June 2014.

Our journey has been an awesome experience; I look forward to seeing God move in a mighty way here at Central Heights and very humbled to be a part of such an amazing God loving family.

Acts 2:42-47
42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
