Words – Heartfelt or Sharp Tongue
Have you ever heard the saying, “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me?” Well, this statement couldn’t be any further from the truth. Our words can bring hurt, or they can bring comfort. We are reminded of this through today’s passage. When we speak, our words can impact the person we are speaking to more than we think. What we say is a reflection of who we are and how we view others. The hurtful things we say can be poisonous to another, in an emotional sense. If we speak kindly, we uplift another.
