Friday Devotional 9/25/2015

My fellow scouts who went up with me discouraged the people, but I was completely loyal to the LORD, my God. – Joshua 14:8



Where’s Their GOD?

Has God allowed you to go through a unique, though fearful circumstance? How did you talk to others about that circumstance? No matter how dismal the situation, God does not want us to share despair. Instead, He wants us to share that God is always faithful, rich in mercy, and able to save valiantly. Joshua knew that God had led him to see the goodness and faithfulness of God while spying out the Promised Land, because Joshua saw it in faith, knowing this was the great land that God would conquer. The other spies left the unbelievers asking, “Where is their God?” Do you make other Christian’s confidence in God dissolve because of your own fears of His inadequacy, or are you giving them a report of courage?  – Commentary by Steffanie Howard
